Click on each day to reveal more details. (BLD) refers to meals included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 1-Dec 10: Arrive Frankfurt (D)
On the day of arrival, we’ll board our floating hotel and check into our designated cabins. After check in, enjoy a welcome buffet and information meeting. Afterwards we’ll relax for our first dinner on board.
Day 2-Dec 11: Activities in Frankfurt (BLD)
After breakfast, enjoy a guided city tour of Frankfurt: a culturally, ethnically, and religiously diverse global hub for commerce, culture, education, tourism and transportation. This metropolitan city showcases a magnificent blend of modernization and historical preservation; from its skyscrapers forming the Frankfurt Skyline in the city center to Frankfurt’s unique old town that is the largest timber-framed old town in all of Europe. From here, you will be able to tour Frankfurt’s famous Christmas Markets, which is a massive street market held annually in the town’s square where seasonal foods, drinks, and entertainment are exhibited all through the day and night in celebration of the holiday – with the Frankfurt Christmas Market being the very first and oldest seasonal market in all of Europe. Afternoon free at leisure before returning to the ship for a welcome Cocktail and presentation by the crew in the lounge as we depart for Miltenberg. The day comes to a close with dinner onboard and live music into the night.
Day 3-Dec 12: Frankfurt – Miltenberg (BLD)
This morning, we’ll start with a walking tour of the beautiful medieval town. During the tour, you will marvel at the history embodied in the pristine half-timbered houses and crooked cobblestoned streets found within this well-preserved medieval city. Further layers of history are evidenced in the preserved Bronze Age tumuli, Celtic hill forts and Roman ruins and castle. Return to the ship for lunch while you set sail to Wurzburg. Afternoon cooking class in the lounge.
Day 4-Dec 13: Miltenberg – Wurzburg (BLD)
After breakfast, enjoy a morning walking tour of the Wurzburg, which will include a stop by the Bishops’ Residenz, one of Germany’s largest and most ornate baroque palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy some free time before returning to the ship for lunch while you set sail to Bamberg. Afternoon cocktails demonstration in the lounge.
Day 5-Dec 14: Wurzburg – Bamberg (BLD)
We start our visit to the medieval city of Bamberg with another walking tour. Founded in 902, Bamberg is a beautiful city that has retained its medieval aesthetic and is known for its special “smoky” beer. During the tours, you will visit Bamberg’s medieval city center (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) followed by a visit to the magnificent 11th-century cathedral which was reworked in late Romanesque style in the 13th century. After the tour you either spend time to explore the city on your own or participate at the optional culinary tour of Bamberg. Tonight get ready for the Farewell Cocktail and Captain’s Dinner.
Day 6-Dec 15: Bamberg – Nuremberg (BLD)
After breakfast, embark on guided bus/walking tour of Nuremberg, the 2nd largest city within the German federal state of Bavaria. You will visit the ruins of Zeppelin Field, the Nazi parade grounds of the 1930s, followed by a stop at the Palace of Justice, site of the infamous Nuremberg Trials. For lunch enjoy a traditional Franconian meal that features Nuremberg’s famous (and delicious) sausages. After lunch, spend free time exploring Nuremberg’s Old Town and the historic 13th century walls that surround the city. Return to the ship for a final dinner onboard.
Day 7-Dec 16: Depart for Home (B)
After breakfast, we’ll say our final farewells to the crew as we disembark and make our way to the airport for our return flight.
