On a brighter note, Roger and I were not satisfied with the alternative walk we planned for the mudflats crossing to Mont Saint-Michel, so we swung back by the bay this afternoon on our way south from the D-Day beaches.
A variant of the route had come to our attention since we left the bay last Sunday and we were eager to give it a try. It’s lovely!
Much more variety and texture than the linear walk we had planned along the edge of the bay. This new route includes great views of Mont Saint-Michele, but also winds along the river feeding into the bay and through the storybook village of St. Leonard.
It was pouring when we started, and a group was just coming up from the beach having finished their crossing from Mont Saint-Michele to the east side of the bay. The rain let up, and the sun came out, and we enjoyed stellar evening light as we mapped out this new bay walk. Sometimes it takes a couple shots to get it right.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”8110,8104,8107,8108,8109,8106″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
